Buldan town of Denizli is the homeland of pestemal.
According to a study, it is known that Buldan history goes back to the stone age and the weaving art was being performed in Buldan also in ancient times. In ancient era, Buldan that located in Tripolis was a place which was known with flax production and weaving and vegetable dyeing craft . There was extensive trade activities with oversea countries.
